From a poem

I'll just be what I am
Without root without branch without crown
I'll lean on myself
On my own bumps and bruises

I certainly like this poet... Great words, beautiful: "Without root without branch without crown". So beautiful.

Glad you like it, Vasko Popa really is skilled with words.
The photo is lovely and quite unusual, what kind of a tree is it? I like the composition very much.

Thanks Thinker :) I don't know what kind of tree it is... It was taken in Setubal, a small city near Lisbon. It's a bit silly that I love trees so much but I don't know anything about their 'names'...

Lovely, you have beautiful trees in Portugal.
This one is amazing, you've captured its expression. A tree portrait in a way :)

The poem makes me feel lonely. Poignant.

I guess there are situations in life when we have to do something all alone, without any help, and sometimes even without anyone's support. I recognize that emotion in these verses.
