Expectation of the dawn

We must learn to reawaken and keep ourselves awake, not by mechanical aid, but by an infinite expectation of the dawn.

'keep ourselves awake, not by mechanical aid' - couldn't agree more. yes, please lets look at things w curious eyes at all times. things around us are ever changing. life shouldn't be something boring but a surprise each day. i always like how you find matching quotes to the images.

Glad you like it, your photos always have clear and captivating moods, so it's easy to find a matching quote. A lovely shot of these flowers in the night, caught by your curious eyes are a beautiful proof that surprises are all around us, waiting to be found. And that we must learn to reawaken ourselves again and again by beauty.

Beautiful quote, lovely picture.
I like Thoreau's writings very much.
(Have you seen the movie "Into the wild"?)

an infinite expectation of the dawn
These words make my back shiver a little :)

Glad you like it, Cécile.
Yes, Into The Wild is one of the strongest movies i've saw lately, i've carried its emotion with me for days after i watched it. Among the various quotes, i liked the poem from the movie very much, "I Go Back to May" by Sharon Olds, recited by Chris McCandless.
